What is CPoint?

CPoint was developed from 2000 - 2004 within the CCaps (Course Capsules) Project at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA, which objectives are in a nutshell the design and implementation of a system that will store, organize, index, and present course content. Since then it was advanced with support of the KWARC group at Jacobs University, the Once-CS Project, and the working group DiMeB (Digital Media in Education) at the University Bremen, Germany. To support these features, CCaps relied on substantial content markup stored in the established database format OMDoc. The concrete design and implementation of a CCaps course content system starts out with the creation of conversion tools which extract and migrate the content of existing courses to the OMDoc format.

CPoint is an OMDoc editor in Microsoft PowerPoint (PPT). It allows the PPT user to annotate PPT objects like images or text boxes in a PPT presentation and to export the resulting information into an OMDoc document. Additional supportive tools stretch from a content graph viewer over editorial notes to semantic interfaces specialized for PPT authors resp. students.

Note, the available files are the newest versions and therefore always to be treated as alpha versions. Furthermore, the module CPointStudent is new!
